Our story

Nearly four decades of
building excellence.

Cornerstone Fitout started life in 1986 as Forrest Joinery & Construction Contracts, a family-rooted business making joinery for clients around the North West. The workshop is still in Lancashire. The difference now is scale: we deliver full turnkey fit out programmes the length of the country.

That growth came from repeat business rather than marketing. Long relationships in retail, leisure and fast food, built by turning up when we said we would and finishing what we started.

We do not just complete projects. We build the kind of relationships where clients ring us first.

How we got here

Nearly four decades
in the making

1986

Founded in Lancashire

Cornerstone Fitout, then trading as Forrest Joinery & Construction Contracts, starts out as a specialist commercial joinery and fit out contractor serving the North West.

1990s

The workshop expands

Investment in a purpose-built manufacturing facility at Walton Summit brings full joinery production in-house, lifting both capacity and the quality we can hold ourselves to.

2000s

National rollouts begin

Our first major nationwide rollout for a leading quick service restaurant brand establishes the reputation for multi-site programme management that still brings clients to us.

2010s

Healthcare and leisure

Serious investment in specialist healthcare capability, HTM training included, alongside major commissions in luxury leisure and hospitality.

2018
